Free Web Design?
For a limited time, I'm designing web sites for select
organizations and small businesses, for free. I am in the process of building
my personal portfolio. By building web sites, I hope to make the local
web more beautiful and gain some experience in web design and working with
clients. I'm particularly interested in web sites for non-profit charitable
organizations, though I also have other interests as well. I'm mostly interested
in developing sites with useful content, rather than a few pages of advertisements.
I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop,
and a Macromedia Certified Dreamweaver MX Developer. Essentially, that
means I know how to use the software to work with graphics and design web
pages. As an Adobe Certified Expert in InDesign, I can also transition
designs to print. For a look at some of my other qualifications, you can
browse my on-line resume pages at http://www.saltatoria.com/dbell/resume/.
While the design work is free, you still have
to have Internet "real estate" to work with. Specifically, you will need
web space and a domain name, and in order to get internet response,
you will need an email address. This is usually handled with your hosting
company along with a host of other amenities.
If you are interested, don't delay. The first
thing you will want to do is decide what you want/need over a period of time
and then
develop a plan with various stages of development. Most new sites for small businesses
and organizations would consist of 5-10 areas, the home page and initially
one page for each area.
